When GUNDAY is released shortly, it would be creating a new benchmark of expanding the outreach and ambit of a film to reach the audience. Trust Yash Raj films to pull another bunny out of the fact when it releases GUNDAY, as it is being released simultaneously in both Hindi and Bengali. Obviously the trigger for going for this innovation lies in the fact the story line of GUNDAY is situated in Kolkata and the coal belts of Raniganj and Durgapur and being a period film in the sense that it traces the history associated with the world of coal mines of the 1970s, the producers have thought it apt to simultaneously release the Bengali version of GUNDAY as well.

Obviously with the advancements in technology it has become tad easy to translate a film into any other language than its base source, a genre which has been perfected by various Hollywood studios for more than a decade, who release the dubbed versions of the English films in various Indian languages. As a matter of fact few movie channels on television survive and thrive by following this maxim of showing the dubbed versions of Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films on their channels throughout their day, and the realization seems to have dawned on the film fraternity to diversify into this genre as well and Yash Raj films has taken a lead in this regard.

It is not that the simultaneous release of a film in both Hindi and Bengali is happening for the first time in the film industry. It already has been done through Amitabh Bachchan's BARSAAT KI EK RAAT, which was simultaneously released in Hindi and Bengali, the difference being that in Bengali BARSAAT KI EK RAAT was christened as ANUSANDHAN. Besides, SHALIMAAR which was made by Krishna Shah was released simultaneously in Hindi and English.

In the recently released film MADRAS CAFÉ and CHENNAI EXPRESS to add to the local flavor the dialogues of the natives were carried in the local language itself- Tamil, that added an element of genuineness to the content and also brought out the affinity of the audience in a more pronounced manner. GUNDAY would try to achieve the same through its simultaneous release both in Hindi and English and one only hopes that this trend would have much more innovative manifestations in the times to come.

Heart Attack is an upcoming Telugu film written, directed and produced by Puri Jagannadh under the Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies. The film stars Nithiin and Adah Sharma in lead roles. jai ho , Salman Khan in first half He is basically a do-gooder for his fellow-men as he attempts to make the world a better place to live. Salman in such a role may/may not work with the masses but in this refreshingly different role, he is cool with a capital C.

Jaiho (Salman khan) is an officer in Indian army who is leading a peaceful life with his mother (popular hindi) after taking voluntary retirement from service. jai ho takes pride in helping people, but tells them that in return they should also help three people so that this chain multiplies. His sister Jhansi (Kushboo) and mother are at loggerheads after she married a Punjabi, though jai ho is in touch with them.

jai ho has an admirer in (Genelia) who is Jhansi’s neighbour. jai ho wants to change the attitude of people being selfish and advises them to help others when they are in need. A small incident on the road, changes his life completely. He happens to cross words with a lady who happens to be Home minister (Prakash Raj) daughter in telugu hindi may change the character. She wants to take revenge on jai ho with the help of her powerful dad.

The film tries to convey the message that a simple idea can make a big difference to our society. The introductory scene of jai ho projects him as a mass hero with a larger-than-life image but slowly the tempo slows down. The first half has nothing much to offer and delves with problems like the injustice meted out to the handicap and the poor. And the second half, after Prakash Raj comes into the scene; the film picks up speed and becomes interesting especially the last 15 minutes.

With his immense screen presence, Salman khan lifts the film to great heights though it lacks the usual entertainment that is associated with his films. Trisha is a feast for your eyes and her comedy scenes with Salman khan are a major highlight. The best thing about the film is that it does not have crass comedy and Sunil has a neat role and he excels in the emotional scene in the climax. Prakash Raj as a70-year-old man has given a commendable performance while Kushboo, Sarada and Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao are ok.

Though the basic plot is inspired from Pay It Forward, Sohali khan has Indianised it by adding plenty of local flavour. Music by Mani Sharma is mediocre and the picturisation has a Ghajini hangover. Camera of Chota.K.Naidu is good especially the exotic locales of Italy and Austria in the songs. On the whole, jai ho is watchable?

David O Russell made an immediate impact with his offbeat romantic comedy Silver Linings Playbook starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper. In the director’s latest movie American Hustle, the duo reappear along with an impressive cast of Amy Adams, Christian Bale and Jeremy Renner. The story this time is inspired from the FBI ABSCAM operation of the late 1970s and early 1980s.

storyline follows the conning duo of Irving Rosenfeld (Bale) and Sydney Prosser (Adams) getting caught by up and coming FBI officer Richie DiMaso (Cooper) in a routine bust. Richie makes a deal with the two to let them off if they help him catch corrupt politicians and mafia bosses as well as members of Congress.

The movie might seem simple on paper but Russell makes it a point to infuse humour at just the right points and builds the story ‘from the feet up’ as Irving keeps saying in the movie. This makes for an enjoyable first half where we learn more about the two central characters and how Richie’s arrival and subsequent bust changes the equation. In contrast the second half where Renner, who plays Mayor Polito of Camden, New Jersey, gets far more airtime than is probably necessary.

Director S.V. Krishna Reddy, who has been away from filmdom since his last release - 2009 Telugu comedy "Masth" - is back to make a sequel to the 1994 Telugu blockbuster "Yamaleela".

"I have been thinking about it for some time now. I intend to start working on it soon, but before that I need to get my casting right," Krishna Reddy said. "'Yamaleela' worked because of the performances of its lead actors, and therefore, I need to rope in good performers," he added.

Ali and veteran actor K. Sathyanarayana played the lead roles in "Yamaleela", which also featured Indraja, Manju Bhargavi and Brahmanandam in important parts. "I'm planning to rope in Mohan Babu to play the role originally essayed by Sathyanarayana, while I need some actor with some face value to play the role of Ali. I need time to finalise the cast as I need to meet actors and audition them," he added.

He is known for making clean family entertainers such as "Maavichiguru", "Vinodham" and "Subha Lagnam". When asked about his absence from the industry, he said, "I have been enjoying my sabbatical. I was working on the script of the sequel and I'm in no hurry to make many films a year. I like to take it slow".
