Mahesh Babu’s Nenokkadine is gearing up for its release on Jan 10th. Filmytime already broke the news that Nenokkadine is the highest budgeted Telugu Film ever made. At this juncture, filmytime gets our viewers an exclusive analysis about the film budget. The film has been made at a whooping budget of 73Cr (Including Publicity). The film shoot began in the year 2012 (April). The unit took almost 2 years to wrap up the entire shooting (Considering the announcement date of Feb 2012). As already stated, the film has been made with 73Cr. Considering the current market interest rate (Reserve Bank of India) of 7-8%, the total value of the amount put in the film by 2014 (January) tends to reach 80-83Cr!! However the money put in would be in a continuous flow format. So, the above amount could be the maximum limit. The present value of money easily lies between 78-80Cr considering the initial high investment put in the film during its early days of shoot.

Now considering the distributors, except Guntur all other areas is an own release of 14 Reels through Local distributors. So, the burden lies solely on 14 Reels to recover the amount. However, the craze of Mahesh Babu earns approximately 15Cr from the rights of Audio, Video, and Satellite etc. Thus the film needs an overall worldwide share of 60Cr just to break even! Mahesh Babu’s performance in overseas is usually rocking. But, the changed rentals in overseas affect the shares of films. It has been clearly witnessed in the case of Industry hit “Attarintiki Daredi” which could collect only a share of 9Cr in overseas despite grossing more. So, touching the 10c mark in overseas is not a cake walk for Mahesh Babu this time. Moreover, he is weak in Rest Of India. Major share in Rest Of India comes from Karnataka market where Mahesh lags with 4th position next to NTR, Ram Charan and Pawan Kalyan. A 3.5c share of SVSC shows that he hasn’t performed well in the Karnataka zone. Outside Andhra Pradesh should tally 15Cr to break even!

Leaving the 15Cr rights and 15Cr outside Andhra Pradesh, the film is still left to collect 50Cr within Andhra Pradesh to have atleast 2% ROI! This clearly shows that he needs to collect an approximate amount of 80Cr at least, which is almost 5Cr greater than the present industry hit “Attarintiki Daredi” to be termed as a safe. The scenario for “Attarintiki Daredi” is completely different as it has gained a soft corner among all the film lovers with the piracy issue and also it has got a solo release. But this Sankranthi, Nenokkadine shall lock horns with Ram Charan’s “yevadu”. With “yevadu” having a very good pre-release report, road might seem a sittle blurred to “Nenokkadine”. However taking the makers confidence into account, Nenokkadine would remain in Telugu Industry as a masterpiece. If “Nenokkadine” truly touch 75Cr mark worldwide, it could be solely attributed to the reputation Mahesh Babu has got across the world.  The final collections of SVSC and Dookudu are 51Cr and 59Cr approximately. Thus he needs to outperform himself. We would also like to share with our viewers that Power Star Pawan Kalyan has got no 30Cr movie before Gabbar Singh. His highest was 29Cr for the film “Jalsa” and his 3 movies “Komaram puli”, “Teenmaar” and “Panjaa” have failed even to touch 20Cr mark. But, he bounced back with a 60Cr “Gabbar Singh” all of a sudden. This shows that nothing is impossible in Film Industry!

Thus, it is clear that the present task in-front of “Nenokkadine” makers as well as Mahesh babu is to break even, leaving dreams about profits! The film needs to outbeat “Attarintiki Daredi” to break even. Whether it breaks or not should be a question of debate among film lovers. Filmytime wishes Super Star “Mahesh babu” all the very best this Sankranthi to jolt down a new Industry hit for the first time in his career. Filmytime would get back to you with a detailed analysis about another Sankranthi release “Yevadu” too in a few days. So, stay tuned!
